We woke up to a really foggy Seattle. Fortunately enough getting the kids ready and out of the hotel was a breeze. With a waffle and some fruit yogurt , the kids had their tummy's full and were happy to head out for the day.
Seattle Center was in the plans, we turned the on the GPS and slashed through the fog. The side roads provided very good sight seeing and it only got better when the water ways started showing up with some ships on them. We parked near the space needle and the kids played on the planet balls outside the needle. They were clearly not wanting to go up, so we decided to go with their idea and walked into the center exploring for kid friendly exhibits.
The glass museum looked very tempting from outside. But knowing how good toddlers are with glass, we moved onto the next one.
Next comes the pacific science center. The dinosaur exhibit looked very real, at least to the kids. They had so much fun pretending to play with them, while we were on a line to get the tickets. The line was very slow and the kids were loosing interest, I suddenly spotted a children's museum sign and that piked my interest , so we quit on the pacific center and moved on.
Children's museums are always a hit with the kids and this one is no exception. It provides hours of fun with the toy boats at discovery bay, vacuum center, sound center and the train area at the stroller park. The most I enjoyed was the world exhibit which depicted every day life from 7 different countries.
When we were ready to go get some lunch, the tantrums started. My kids who were happy adorable best behaved kids so far, started rolling on the floor wanting to not get out. Any type of diversion didn't work. Finally with the promise of buying a new real train we somehow managed to get them to the food court. Lunch was a painful event, it was past their nap time and the just weren't cooperating at all.
We rushed our way back to the car and drove on to Vancouver, vowing to never let the kids go without nap by 12:30. Sometimes it makes us so mad, that we discuss not going on a vacation at all until they are older. But as we now drive to Canada taking in the wonderful scenes and all four of us singing Numa Numa from Drangonstei all our frustrations melt away and the only memories that remain are the simple laughs and wonderful pleasures that these kids give us.
As for the Seattle center, I would definitely come back for the monorail, pacific science center and emp museum. Time is too short with two toddlers tagging along.
